Washington, D.C. (November 6, 2024) – The election results present a challenging road for immigrant communities, marked by campaign promises of widespread deportations and anti-immigrant rhetoric. Yet, Ayuda remains unwavering in our mission: to protect the rights, dignity, and safety of immigrants and to challenge policies that incite fear and division.
During Trump’s first term, harmful policies like family separations and mass deportations disproportionately targeted immigrants. Ayuda has been deeply concerned with the campaign’s xenophobic rhetoric toward Haitian and other immigrant groups, along with its plans for the largest domestic deportation effort in history—measures that unfairly cast immigrants as scapegoats and signal hardship ahead for the families and communities we serve.
To protect our community, staff, and clients, Ayuda will continue to join a strong coalition of immigrant rights groups in challenging dangerous rhetoric and extreme policies.
We know this is a difficult moment for many immigrants. Ayuda will continue to fight harmful policies, advocating for comprehensive immigration reform that upholds the values of humanity, fairness, and justice.
Now more than ever, we will stand with our immigrant neighbors—undeterred in our work to provide critical legal, social, and language access services to those who need them most. Our commitment to our clients is unwavering, and we will use every tool at our disposal to protect immigrant families, fight for their rights, and build communities where all people are safe and respected.
To our clients and supporters: Ayuda stands with you. Regardless of who holds office, Ayuda remains a pillar of support, fighting for the rights of immigrant families and building a future where everyone is safe, respected, and included.
