Beatriz Ortiz graduated law school and passed the Puerto Rico State Bar in May 2005. She Immediately started working at Ortiz & Ortiz, Law Offices. In April 2008 she started her own practice, Beatriz N. Ortiz, Esq. Law Offices in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her practice included Family Law, Civil Litigation and Environmental Law. Immediately after becoming an attorney, she started working pro-bono with the Puerto Rico Bar Association, as a member, she worked with the Commission against Discrimination for the LGBTQ Community, the Women’s Commission, and the Civil Rights Commission.
The work Beatriz did in these commissions included giving seminars to other attorneys and representing low-income client’s pro-bono. She represented and litigated the second adoption of a same sex couple granted in Puerto Rico. In December 2017, Beatriz moved to Maryland and started working in Immigration Law. On January 2020, she started working at Ayuda as an Immigration Staff Attorney, she represents immigrants seeking U Visas, Family Petitions, Consular Processing and Naturalizations. On May 2023 she became the Managing Attorney for the DC Immigration Office.
Beatriz is licensed to practice law at the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
