On April 25, more than 200 immigrant supporters gathered at the Mexican Cultural Institute in Washington, D.C. for Ayuda’s Signature Spring Event: Standing With Immigrants (SWI). We were honored to see so many local changemakers, chefs and restaurants, pro bono law firms, and neighbors from every corner of our community on Ayuda’s special night.
RECOGNIZING OUR COMMUNITY
While Ayuda has a lot of impact to celebrate, SWI is also about recognizing those in our community who go above and beyond in pursuit of our mission. Event Host Maria Cardona, of the Dewey Square Group, helped us honor Ayuda’s 2024 Awardees:
Ayuda believes that each time we lend a helping hand to our immigrant neighbors, it creates a ripple effect. It strengthens our community. We are so grateful to the awardees above for helping Ayuda turn these ripples into waves.
CELEBRATING AYUDA’S CLIENTS
A highlight of the night was celebrating one of Ayuda’s incredible clients: Litzy, a young woman who immigrated from Mexico as a child. At just 23 years old, she already co-owns an up-and-coming marketing company called Scala.
After the debut of a short video in which Litzy shared her journey, the superstar herself addressed the audience, thanking all who make Ayuda’s work possible. Watch the video below:

The best part of SWI was getting to see so many supporters and friends from throughout Ayuda’s history.
