Ayuda extends a heartfelt congratulations to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, as they are officially sworn in as the 46th President and Vice President of the United States.
Today is an historic day, as VP Kamala Harris – the first woman, Black woman, South Asian woman, and daughter of an immigrant – assumes the office of the Vice Presidency.
Today we embrace a new path of dignity, diversity, and decency. But now, we must come together to begin our journey of recovery.
The road to recovery will not be easy, as the country continues to face a myriad of issues, from tackling COVID-19 to dismantling racial inequality and injustice.
The work will be hard, but we stand by as ready as ever.
During these challenging times, our staff continue to meet the immediate needs of our immigrant neighbors. We are putting on our masks and going to court, we are providing basic needs to immigrant survivors, and ensuring that no family faces food insecurity or eviction.
We are doing what is needed to be done.
You stood by us as we navigated the pandemic, and pivoted to provide quality legal, social and language access services remotely, supporting more than 3,000 immigrants in 2020.
And we ask that you to continue to stand with us.
So, while the fight is not over, we are hopeful. We are resilient and we will recover, together.
Because we believe that diversity is strength, and immigrants are what makes America so great. We look forward to working with you and with this new administration to help our immigrant neighbors recover and thrive.
