LGBTQ+ Immigrants
Some LGBTQ+ immigrants find that in the United States, they are finally in a safe place to explore/express their sexual orientation or gender identity. Some come to the United States because of the persecution they face in their home country due to their actual or perceived sexual identity. Some are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or human trafficking.
Ayuda offers specialized legal and social services to help meet LGBTQ+ immigrants’ unique needs. We endeavor to uphold their legal rights through affirming and supportive services. Ayuda’s immigration legal team has experience advocating for the needs of LGBTQ clients and fighting the discrimination they face within the contexts of immigration and family law.
Our social services team works to connect LGTBQ+ clients with supportive housing options, health services, and a community that will welcome them.
Our staff have been trained to make our office space welcoming to LGBTQ clients by providing a safe environment free of judgment or bias.
