Non-Legal Internships:
Non-Legal interns help maintain and grow Ayuda’s administrative teams, including the Intake Specialists in our three client-facing offices, the Operations team based in our downtown admin office, the Language Access team in our admin office, and the Development team also based in our admin office. Dedicated, well-qualified undergraduate students are encouraged to apply for our administrative internships, as well as non-students and graduate students.
Non-Legal Interns are hired to work in the summer, fall and spring season. To be considered for the summer internship season, applications should be submitted by April 30th. For the fall season, applications should be submitted by August 31st. For the spring season, applications should be submitted by November 30th.
Internship periods fall approximately alongside undergraduate semester dates. Summer internships run from the beginning of June until the beginning of August.
Ayuda offers three internship positions with the Intake Specialist team (one based in each office), one internship with the Operations team, two internships with the Development team and one internship with the Language Access team each season.

Applications must include a cover letter and resume. In your cover letter, please describe your interest in the internship, and please specify your desired start and end dates, availability during the week, and your preference for program and office location if interested in multiple programs.

Operations Intern
Our Operations intern partners with our Ops team at our downtown DC office on the business operations of the organization. Our Ops internship is an opportunity to delve into how the organization is run on the business side. Day to day, that means helping with internal communications, working with Ops on technology and systems improvement projects, gaining office management skills, and joining the team on hiring of new staff while learning aboutthe Human Resources world. It’s a great opportunity for someone who is interested in how a non-profit is organized and run. Both full- and part-time intern candidates are encouraged to apply.
Development Intern
Our Development intern works with Ayuda’s Development team to support fundraising and communication work that underpins all of the different departments and programs at Ayuda. Day to day, the Development intern helps with donor database management, researches into new and current grants and foundations, tracks data and runs reports, creates content and posts to social media, assists in event planning and supporting the partnership with our Board and Advisory Council. It’s a great opportunity to work up-close with fundraising and external communications. Full- and part-time candidates are encouraged to apply.

Communications Intern
Ayuda seeks a Communications intern to assist in the creation of initiatives, external communications, and provide general support to Ayuda’s Development & Communications Coordinator.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the development of graphics for use in marketing materials, promotions, events, social media posts, and other projects
- Support the Development & Communications Coordinator with routine communications functions: graphics for newsletters, scheduling out posts, and posting and reposting on social media.
- Help conduct research and analyze data to aid in the growth of Ayuda’s communication efforts
- Attend special events with the development team to assist with the setup and takedown of the event.
- Assist with special projects, as needed

Language Access Intern
Our Language Access intern joins our Language team in our downtown Washington, DC office and assists in conducting research on language access resources, communicating with the DC metropolitan area bilingual community on interpreter training opportunities, organizing social and networking events for interpreters and maintaining the Language Access Program’s online presence, program outreach, administrative tasks such as data entry and filing, and other tasks as assigned by program staff.
