Welcome Breakfast 2017

Welcome Breakfast 2017

At Ayuda, we envision a community where all immigrants overcome obstacles in order to succeed and thrive in the United States. We realize our vision by advocating for low-income immigrants through direct legal, social and language services, training and outreach in the Washington DC metropolitan area.

Ayuda’s invites YOU to join its 2017 Welcome Breakfast for an interactive conversation with Ayuda’s former clients, staff attorneys and social workers, board members, donors, and other supportive friends. This event is free for all participants. This event will be moderated by WAMU’s Armando Trull, an expert on immigration matters.

At the Welcome Breakfast, you will:

  • Learn the day-to-day challenges and struggles faced by low-income immigrants.

  • Hear from Ayuda past and current clients with stories of their journeys.

  • Discover the various ways Ayuda’s professional staff –attorneys, social workers, language access program managers—are helping immigrants to access justice.

  • Meet dedicated volunteers who have made a profound difference in the lives of immigrants.

  • Network with current supporters and donors who value Ayuda’s mission as their own.

  • Be invited to share your time, talent, and treasure to support Ayuda’s work.

After the morning’s event, we hope you will recognize your own values being echoed within Ayuda’s mission. “Because of you, immigrants like me no longer fear deportation, abuse, threats, or wage theft; can access benefits and live to our full potential as human beings.”—Danny Guingab, former human-trafficking client.

And, even if you choose to pass on the invitation to engage in Ayuda’s work, we appreciate your taking time to learn about the immigrants Ayuda serves.

The Need is Real

“The abuses are unfair and inhumane. The mistreatment is real and unlawful.”

Ayuda serves vulnerable immigrants, from more than 100 countries, who now reside in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Their stories are harrowing— yet hopeful. With Ayuda, they access justice to stop the abuse and improve their lives.
